Welmer Barry Edwards departed this life on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Beloved husband of Evelyn Kelly Edwards. Loving father of Vince R. Edwards (Veronica), Duane B. Edwards (Jonae), Therrill R. Edwards, Trevor L. Flowers (Gregory). Son of the late Ella Mae Alexis and Welmer 'Tregre' Edwards. Brother of Lugene, Eloise Johnson(Phillip), Michael Alexis, Denis Lynn Alexis, Barbara Edwards-Taylor and Eugene Roussell. Also survived by seventeen grand children, nine great grand children and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives, friends, pastor, officers and members of St. Mark Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Mark Baptist Church, 132 Marquez St, Mt Airy, LA.. Rev. Oscar R. Nelson, pastor beginning at 10:00am. Interment St. John Memorial Cemetery, 2205 W. Airline Hwy, LaPlace, La. Public visitation at Treasures of Life, Center for Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, Friday, September 11 from 5:00-7:00pm. Repast will be held at St. Mark Baptist Church.
