Wendell Williams

–

Lewisville, Texas

Wendell Jessie Williams, born on March 25, 1976, in New Orleans, LA, grew up in St. Rose, La. He was a graduate of Destrehan High School where he participated in track and field. He went on to attend business college, work in management, banking as a loan officer and as an underwriter, honing his professional skills along the way. Wendell worked many years working in Loss Mitigation at First American in New Orleans, La. as well as their branch that relocated to Dallas, Tx. In recent, he used his years of professional experience to become a new member of BSI Financial Services team, as an Loan Processor. In August of 2024, Wendell received his diploma from Asher College in Information Technology: Computer and Network Technician. A goal he set for himself and excitedly completed.

Wendell was a beacon of laughter and joy to those who knew him. He was a man of wit, his unique sense of humor was infectious, his love for life evident in the twinkle of his eye. His laughter was unique and could fill a room, making even the gloomiest days bright. He liked to reminisce old memories but enjoyed socializing to create new ones. He also enjoyed catching a good movie at home or with friends and spending time getting his beloved pup Mia out to play. As an Loan Processor, Wendell showed himself reliable and trustworthy, with a work ethic admired by his peers and colleagues. As we mourn his passing on October 11, 2024, we also celebrate his life and the lasting impact he has left on us all.

Wendell lived his life with a loving heart, cherishing his family above all else. His mother, Linda Williams, with whom he had a close bond, held a special place in his heart, as did his furry daughter, Mia. Wendell was the life of the party at family gatherings, sharing laughter and making memories with his family. He also brought his natural banter and humor beyond family and made big impressions that gained lasting friendships, that became extended family. Wendell is survived by his parents Linda Williams, Tzucanow D Williams I, Wendell J Tumblin and Tonya Tumblin, his siblings Tzucanow Williams II, St Michael Williams, Tony Tumblin, Corea Tumblin and Wendy Tumblin, his grandmother Janice Williams & God-son Elijah Collins; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. His love for family extended into the way he lived his life, always ready to have a good time, lend a helping hand and never missing an opportunity to say something to make you laugh. Wendell's love for life was mirrored in his love for travel, a passion he hoped to explore more.

As we remember Wendell, we are reminded of the Bible verse, Psalms 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." This verse encapsulates Wendell's faith as a Baptist and his unwavering belief in love, family, and laughter. Wendell was preceded in death by his grandparents Esther and Wesley Tumblin Sr, Helen and Roosevelt Charles, Johnny Robertson Sr, and uncles Roosevelt Robertson and Michael Tumblin, and brother Tarrence Williams Sr.

To keep Wendell's memory alive, we encourage all who knew him to share their stories, laughter, and photos on the memorial page. As we navigate this time of loss, let us remember Wendell's funny, loving, witty, and reliable spirit and keep his memory alive in our hearts.
