Zalon Rashad "Chop6x" Carter Obituary (2004 - 2023)

On April 7, 2004, at River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace, LA, God blessed Shelcia & Kyrin Carter with the arrival of their first & only baby boy, Zalon Rashad Carter. He was a native of Vacherie and a resident of Darrow, LA. At the tender age of 18, Zalon's life was abruptly taken in Houston, Texas. As a young youth, he sang in the youth choir and attended youth bible class. He was an upcoming 2023 graduating senior at St. Amant High School. Zalon, affectionately known as "Big Z" to family and "Chop6X" to friends, enjoyed spending time being hilarious with family and friends. He was incredibly passionate about making his music, going to the studio, & doing stage performances. Chop6x was the first music artist in the family. He gained major recognition as an artist after his song "Pills, Pills, Pills" went viral, and was listed as number one in Louisiana, and on the radio station. Zalon was indeed a big teddy bear who loved to clown. His cousins possess numerous memories of voice memos, text messages, & videos in their family & friends group chat. Everyone Zalon knew will greatly cherish his impact on their lives either through love, friendship, his pleasant personality, or his humor, including his class of 2023 St. Amant Gators. Zalon leaves to cherish his enduring memories to his parents, Shelcia & Kyrin Carter, his 2 sisters whom he adored, Zalayia & Zyen Carter, his maternal grandmother, Belinda Travis, maternal great-grandfather, Shelton Valentine (Brenda), his aunts, Brandy Shorty (Raymon), Sandtrell Broden (Stacy), Peggy Valentine, & Lorena Travis, his uncle, Jordy Valentine Sr. (Aishia), his devoted close-knit cousins, Tyler, Kei'Anza, Kei'Anjana, Levora, Jr., TyReanna, RayLynn, Jordy, Jr., Jordyn, Jor'Dai & Jor'Daz, his godparents, Jessica Jackson, Brandy Shorty, Gerren Hansley, Jared O'Neal, Damon Jenkins, Darwin Strong & David Johnson, 2 Godchildren, Mason Thomas and Karlei Nailor, & a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. Zalon was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kim & Walter Carter, maternal grand-fathers, Russell Alexander & Alvin Travis, maternal great-grandparents, Lorena Mae Valentine and Theresa & Matthew Alexander Jr., and paternal great-grandparents, Walter Joseph, Mary Carter, and George & Theresa Manuel. Public visitation will be on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 4 pm-6 pm at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052. A celebration of life honoring Zalon R Carter will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Israelite Baptist Church, 2192 Alexander St, Lutcher, LA. Visitation begins at 10 am.
